Getting Around
Italy's high-speed rail spine makes city-hopping effortless; a car only makes sense in the countryside.

Frecciarossa and Italo connect Milan–Florence–Rome–Naples in a few comfortable hours.
🚆 Regional Trains
Cheap and unreserved for shorter hops like Florence–Siena or Naples–Pompeii. Validate paper tickets.
🚗 Rental Car
Essential for Tuscany, Puglia and Sicily — but avoid driving into historic centres (ZTL fines are automatic).
⛴️ Ferries
Link Naples with Capri and Ischia, and the mainland with Sardinia and Sicily.
