Beer gardens, lake swims at Wannsee, open-air cinema and festivals. Long daylight until 10pm.
Dec (Christmas)
Christmas markets across the city — Gendarmenmarkt is the classic, RAW-Gelände the alternative.
Mar – Apr (Spring)
Cherry blossoms along the former Wall trail, cafés spill onto pavements, fewer crowds.
Oct – Nov (Autumn)
Golden Tiergarten, Berlin Art Week, museum season. Cool but rarely freezing.
Getting Around
Berlin's public transport is one of Europe's best — a single ticket covers U-Bahn (metro), S-Bahn (city rail), trams, buses and even some ferries.
🚇 U-Bahn (Metro)
10 underground lines running roughly 4am–1am, and 24 hours on Fri/Sat nights. Trains every 3–5 min.
🚆 S-Bahn (City Rail)
Overground network circling the city on the Ringbahn and reaching Potsdam, Schönefeld airport and the outskirts.
🚋 Trams (MetroTram)
Mostly in the former East — great for Prenzlauer Berg, Friedrichshain and Mitte.
🚌 Bus & Night Buses
Bus 100 and 200 double as cheap sightseeing tours. N-buses cover the network overnight.
🚲 Bikes
Flat, bike-lane heavy city; rent from Nextbike, Donkey Republic or Call a Bike.

Arrival in Mitte

Cold War Berlin

Tiergarten & departure
Slow walk through Tiergarten, coffee at Café am Neuen See, last shopping on Kurfürstendamm before airport transfer.
